A few weeks ago my friend Praise went missing.
The last thing he said to me was on November 11, 2021.
All he said was "WHAT IS GOING ON, PLEASE HELP!".
I was gone for that week, going on vacation to Italy. When I came back on November 13, I asked what was happening. To this day I haven't heard from Praise.
Praise did have a friend named Michael. Michael had been talking with Praise. Michael is also a good friend of mine. This is what he said to me.
"Praise is gone. I can explain everything though."
Chapter 1 - Corrupt Me, Corrupt You[]
For the final few weeks of his life (or atleast the time we had contact), Praise had really enjoyed corrupting Roblox with RealTimeCorruptor. He had always joined Jailbreak and corrupted it, causing people to seemingly fly around on his screen, his guns to do infinite damage whilst the other player doesn't actually die, desyncing it, and him being able to glitch through walls.
But one day, during a corruption stream, when Praise corrupted Jailbreak, it went completely red.
He clicked the little X button. Instead of closing, a terrible, ear-piercing screech came through the speakers of Praise's computer. The Roblox window then went black with red static. Only then did it close.
"Dang, what on earth was that? Lol, I wanna do that again!", Praise said in the voice chat.
Praise was the kind of kid that loved thrill and excitement. It's understandable why he wanted to do that again.
But, right before he joined Jailbreak again, the Play button disappeared. His computer then locked up, once again playing the horrible screechy noises.
Praise propped up his phone to stream his monitor as his PC wasn't responding. Suddenly the taskbar went red, then after a few minutes, his computer bluescreened.
The screech noises were suddenly amplified.
When his computer turned off to reboot, all of his lights turned off. His phone switched to mobile data. Mind you this was during an intense thunderstorm. It turns out some lightning had struck his power lines and sent overvoltage to his computer, at the exact same time Jailbreak went red. Now the computer had demanded too much power and popped all his breakers.
After flipping back the breakers, he turned on the computer. Praise was the most brave 14 year old I have ever seen - but even then Praise was quite genuinely scared to turn on his PC.
On the bootscreen, the Dell logo was gone. Instead it was the normal windows 10 logo.
But then it froze, and the windows logo went red. It then bluescreened, except red. Praise had decided he had enough. He got his Windows 10 installation CD out of his cabinet and popped it into the PC.
Chapter 2: Who... are you?[]
After popping the CD into the computer, Praise rebooted. It did successfully boot into the Windows 10 installer.
First he tried "Repair your Computer".
He went into CMD, opened notepad, and looked at the filesystem. His C: drive was named "README", and inside of it was a file named "READ ME ALREADY.txt".
He opened the text file to see this message.
"Why did you try to kill me while I was singing?
Well, you know the rules. Treat others how they want to be treated.
If you destroy me, I will destroy you..."
Praise thought this was some sort of sick joke or malware. He immediately went to Install Windows.
Once he got to the disk screen, a small growing dot appeared on his screen. It formed into the figure of some weird anthropomorphic mouse. Not Mickey Mouse, but similar. It then said, "No no, I don't think so." in a robotic voice. His computer then shut down and soon after emitted a terrible screech coming from the hard drive bay.
"I have NEVER seen malware like that. Even NoEscape.exe doesn't actually do that!", Praise said.
He booted it again. The computer emitted 2 beeps, saying "Boot Device not found." Another small dot appeared, this time forming into the same mouse.
"Listen kid, how many times do I have to tell you. I didn't wanna have to do this, but..."
Suddenly the screen went back, and smoke poured out of Praise' computer after several popping sounds. It then shut down and wouldn't turn back on.
"WHO THE HECK WAS THAT? WHAT?! WH-", Praise said.
Chapter 3: Don't forget.[]
2 days later, on 11/8/2021, at 2 in the morning, Praise was fast asleep. He then heard that same screeching noise. He turned to look at his computer to see a red screen with the strange mouse on it.
"Good to see you're awake for the final time.", the Mouse said.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN FINAL", Praise screamed.
Praise's dad came storming into his room asking why he was 1, up at 2 AM, 2, screaming.
He then quickly realized his computer was effectively haunting Praise. He unplugged the computer, After the power went away, the mouse said "NO! NO! THIS IS NOT THE END OF ME! I WILL COME BACK!" as the screen faded to black and white and the monitor went off.
"Son, I'm gonna get you a new computer. I don't know what the (censored) was wrong with that thing, but I am tired of it. I'm never getting you a dell again. This time I'm gonna try to get you an HP."
At 6 AM, his dad drove Praise to Best Buy. Praise picked out a new HP and his dad watched as Praise set it up.
It worked! Praise then installed Roblox, played Jailbreak, and then logged back onto discord.
He had 1 friend request by a user named "MouseNamedNord", whose PFP was the face of the strange mouse figure. He accepted and said "Michael, stop trolling me.".
He went back to Jailbreak and noticed there was a cop with 111121 cash named "GoodbyePraise". His avatar was also the same as the strange mouse figure.
Praise had then fainted.
After waking up, he noticed he had left his new PC on. He had a message on Discord from "MouseNamedNord".
"Who the mouse is Michael?"
"11/11/21."
"Final day."
They then blocked praise.
He went to tell michael.
"Why, man, Why? It's 8 AM. I'm trying to sleep!", Michael said.
Praise explained everything to michael.
Praise, after calming down, played Jailbreak and nothing weird happened.
Chapter 4: So long, Praise.[]
3 days later, on 11/11/21, Praise had woken up to see his PC once again on, with the red screen and the mouse waiting.
"You know what? I kinda like you. Instead of killing you today, I'm going to capture you."
Praise screamed, messaged me the "WHAT IS GOING ON, PLEASE HELP!" message, and then disappeared.
Michael says that's the last he ever heard of Praise.
Maybe there's hope of rescuing Praise...
